Hi friends,
It is once again the end of an amazing week of camp. We had Jr. High Adventure Camp this week which was very similar to the High School Adventure Camp last week. Because it was our second go at it, everything ran a little smoother. Wednesday was my birthday, and I had a great day! :) It was different than all the other years I've had, but it was different in a good way. I was surrounded by a whole bunch of brothers and sisters in the Lord. The sad part was that I didn't see Tractor that day until about 10:00 at night when I went out to the place he and the campers were spending the night. We hugged a lot. :) I had missed him. Then after I said goodnight to him, my night began. Two other guys and myself stayed up till 3:45 working on the Eco-challenge. :) It was a blast. We took about a half-an-hour to stargaze since we were out in the dark...it was about 1:30 in the morning.
The theme of the Adventure camps is The Hunt. The directors chose the name without realizing how much it applies to our lives. Before the campers left they were challenged to abandon themselves to Christ. We challenged them to live everyday like it was the Hunt, seeking God and making Him their focus. Then someone would yell, "This is the Hunt!" And the campers would shout, "Huh!"
Our theme song for the week has been "The Stand". The chorus ties in really well with the Hunt.

"So I'll stand with arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the One who gave it all
I'll stand, my soul, Lord, to You surrendered
All I am is Yours."
In awe of the One who gave it all
I'll stand, my soul, Lord, to You surrendered
All I am is Yours."
When we sang this song, every Junior Higher was standing and probably 99% of them had their hands spread wide. I melted at what I saw. These kids took the Hunt seriously, and I could tell how much they loved Jesus.
Presently, I'm recovering from lack of sleep. Last night I was so tired and did the math...apparently I got about 10 hours of sleep in the last 72 hours. But it was all worth it!
