The contest was for a Girls of Grace conference run by Point of Grace. Girls of Grace partnered with CCM (a Christian Magazine) to put on the first ever CCM's "It" Girl Contest. CCM chose five finalists to sing at the conference and have the registrants judge.
As an alternate I had to attend the conference completely prepared to sing. If one of the five finalists could not, for some reason, make it to sing, I was to take their place. Unfortunately I was not able to sing.
God knew what He was doing. I had an amazing time at the conference and even preparing for it. I was given the opportunity to record two songs (which I previously posted) for my application. At the conference I met Point of Grace and learned so much! It was well worth the trip.

STORY I
----------------------
I was SO nervous to meet Point of Grace. Dad had arranged it that we would meet them that night (Friday) backstage during the first act. Well, I had never really met a "famous" person before, so this was definately an experience I did not know how to prepare for.
At 7:00 the conference started. Mom, Lauren, and I were to meet a girl named Cammie out in the foyer. Well, I felt sick. I didn't not know how to react!!
She led us back stage, right behind it actually, and we walked past Point of Grace and all the different speakers and singers for the conference. Cammie led us to a separate room and we waited while she got Point of Grace.
Shelley Breen walked in first and gave me a hug. Leigh Cappillino gave me a hug too. Then Heather and Denise came in and introduced themselves to me. I was so excited! I had actually met the people I had only drept of meeting!!
We laughed and talked for a while. Then we took pictures with them. I was standing next to Leigh and after we took the picture she says, "Oh, no I think I blinked! Shoot! I always do that!" I realized (well, I sort of knew already) they are human too! Sometime I forget that since I look up to them so much.
Shelley and Leigh were the ones who joked around with us the most. They told us about the malls they love in Oregon. Leigh says to Mom, "Don't you just love them. They are probably my favorite!" Mom told her she hasn't ever been. Leigh was surprised and laughed. "Really? You have got to go!"
I leaned over to Shelley and said, "You guys know more about Oregon than we do, and we live there!"
We all laughed!
One of my favorite parts was when we talked with them about the contest. They were sad for me, but were really encouraging. Denise hugged me and said, "It is so hard to decide things like that."
Shelley reminded me, "If someone else would have judged you probably would have been in. Everyone has different oppinions." She said she would pray that someone would get sick so I could sing...I knew that wasn't true.
They signed a couple of the CD's I brought and a poster we bought. Meeting them was probably the highlight of the conference for me.
There are many more stories of the rest of our trip I will share in later posts.
